Most of these blog entries will be about things that are boring and/or how to overcome boredom. Exploring things that are boring, identifying them and anticipating their appearance is the first step towards living a boredom free life.
Here are some brief examples:
Situation One
A coworker approaches you on Monday morning to ask you how your weekend was. Not only is this question boring but the person themselves suffers from an extreme lack of possessing any interesting perspectives on anything ever. You know this from being forced to work with them for three years. Suffering through even thirty seconds of their tomfoolery can destroy the rest of your day.
Solution?
Quickly stop in place and look over their shoulder while loudly exclaiming " OH MY GOD!!!" When they turn to see you must seize the initiative and quickly run away. Repeat every time you see this person for the rest of your life.
Situation Two
You've been called to a meeting with your supervisor to discuss your job evaluation or to be assigned a particularly loathsome extra task you have no interest in assuming. This can be a very tricky situation to negotiate through. The best way to tackle this unsavory predicament is to harness the limitless powers or astral projection. Just zip away and see what is going on in Tahiti or anywhere in the ridiculous country of France. They are always complaining or saying something stupid there although their language is beautiful to listen to.
If you cannot project then suffer from a fabricated way over-the-top coughing fit (preferably wet). Excuse yourself to wash your hands and do not return. Repeat as often as necessary.
Situation Three
Taxes. Taxes are really boring to do. Most people pay others to do them and avoid the boredom. It is much more exciting and economically feasible to simply "modify" your returns. Add pets, friends, plants and your favorite book and movie characters to claim as your dependents. I don't suggest you exceed 45 dependents as that gets a bit fishy there at the IRS. But once you file it is totally exciting to see if you get caught!!! When that refund comes in it is even more exciting.
